Came across this forum while surfing the net ... I was born in Kirkcaldy in 1951 and left for Canada with my parents, brother and sister, in 1962. Among the places we lived in Kdy were Overton Road and Simpson Street (our last address). Attended North School. Have been back for several visits, and hope for another trip in 2007.
Cheers to all,
Jim

Archie:
Now live in the Toronto area (Etobicoke to be exact). Lived first in small village in Quebec from 1962 to 1967, then Dad moved the family here. Parents still here, and have an aunt who lives in Pembroke. Brother and sister both live in Toronto area as well. I have two children (both in Toronto). Daughter lived in British Columbia for four years while attending U of Victoria. She's become the world traveller I always wanted to be -- Scotland, England, Ireland, Spain, France, the Far East, Australia and New Zealand. Pressures of work keep me from doing too much travelling, but in the last few years have been to Barbados, Florida (several times), Costa Rica, Scotland and Moscow. The Barbados, Fla. and Costa Rica trips are for birding. If you check out our website (www.pix2go.ca) you'll see the results of those trips.
Cheers,
Jim

Hi Archie , Jim, how nice to see people from home meeting on the forum, I like to see that, to you Archie nice to have you back again. Jim have had a look at your site, you have taken some really great photos. Before I forget Jim welcome to the KB.I see you went to the North School, I did as well for about 1 year, I was not really fond of it,we moved from Dysart to Kennedy Crescent just down the road from the North School, but that was a wee bit before your time.I have a lot of relatives in Canada, my mother's brother who is in his nineties now and all him family, I have only met him and one of my cousins.
I hope you might find time to post some pictures of Canada for us. We have other members of the forum Keith, and Betty, who have posted some great photos of Dysart and Kirkcaldy hope you will have a look. I am going to post some of the photos my Grandson took in Scotland, I have not looked at all of them yet as there are about 500 of them. My Mother's maiden name was Thomson, who nows Jim we may be related. Take care hope you will drop again soon. Ann
