Just a suggestion, from a new member.

Have you tried looking for John Marshall or others you suspect of going to America here as a free member:

www.ellisisland.org

People often gave their place of birth when imigrating or he may be traceable from port of sailing. I recently helped find a family from Wemyss this way. The information you can get for free was brilliant - age/height/eye colour/hair colour/place of birth/adresses of relatives. That way you may be able to confirm he went there.

All the best Melissa.

Hi All

This is TraceyG here. Had to relog in under a new user name as I lost my old details.

Nothing new to report as yet but haven't been searching for a while. Been searching Warwickshire under the name Grimsley on my Dad's side of the family.

Still having fun.

Cheers
