Another Dysart Art installation has just begun on the wall of the Kirk hall, beside the playpark opposite Kirkcaldy Art Club Premises. A mural is being painted on the wall. It is grey on an orange background. I spoke to the contractor doing the work when he knocked off for lunch. It is going to be a shadow of a tree. Supposedly the one on the left in this photo. He also told me that the artist who designed all this innovative artwork, comes from Edinburgh. The scaffolding and screening make it difficult at the moment to anticipate what it will look like.

I also spoke to a woman walking her dog and asked her if she knew anything about these works. She replied "No, but at least it's getting everyone talking".

Today, Thursday, the scaffolding came down and the last of it was removed at 2pm. I therefore declare this the first internet reveal of this artwork. It is supposed to represent the shadow cast by one of the trees at the top of the park. The names given to the other works would appear to be very apt in this case too:- 'Dappled With Shade' and 'Sprinkled With Light'. I am still trying to find out more about the artist and this project and have a promise that info will be sent to me. Here is a photo of the revealed artwork while it is still in pristine condition.

Phase 1 of the Dysart Artworks is now complete. There are supposedly six works included in this and they are:

'Sea Beams' (The pillars at the Harbour)
'Gateway to the Park' (The goalposts)
Mural at the Kirk
Two stone poetry panels (see below)
Bird boxes in Ravenscraig Park (I have no idea what this is)
Book of poetry (no idea about this either)

I will post a picture of the completed ' Sea Beams' in a day or two's time. Meanwhile here are the stone (poetry?) panels that I mentioned in an earlier post.

Yes, It's the Winter Solstice and from here on in the days will start getting longer (but colder). Here is the sun behind the pillars (Sea Beams) at 12:33 today and not a Druid in sight, or anyone else for that matter, as there was a bitter cold wind. I suppose we were lucky there as most of the UK seems to have disappeared under a blanket of thick fog causing a multitude of flight cancellations.

So, Now for the picture:

A panorama made up of four photos joined together. This winter sunshine from a low angle certainly gives good photographic opportunities. Only problem with panoramas though is once they are restricted to 400 pixels wide, there's not much height left in them.

Hi Betty, Merry Christmas, tell your relatives it looks like home right now very dull and rain, but not cold so they don't need to feel they are missing out on the sun. Everyone we speak to who come form overseas are hoping it would be cooler today so they could have a nice hot dinner instead of cold turkey and salads. As you say Betty, Keith as always posts great photos and as always are very much appreciated very much. Have a safe and Happy Christmas and New Year. Ann
