Thanks Annie.
I certainly think this merits more investigation. Here is Kirkcaldy world-famous for its linoleum. and now Gordon Brown, and this other little gem in the background.
Not many people around to remember it!
I believe it was made in Kirkcaldy and distributed around the country, but perhaps it was only distributed to certain bakers under licence in 'DIY'kit form. Intriguing.
The booklet is no use to me personally, but may be of value to your local museum. I would appreciate it, if you would enquire. I think you will find your laptop very convenient, I have one. Very fiddly with the keys but I have attached a seperate keyboard, much faster.

Found this , in regard to Raith Rovers gronds

Typical of several football grounds of the time the club sold advetising space on the pitched asbestos roofs of the covered areas to companys such as R'bt Hutchison & Co (Youma Bread), The Evening Dispatch, Nelsons Cigarettes and Barnett & Morton Ltd which was a local company (ironmongary)that had erected the sheds. Hi folks
I remember the Youma loaf, a rare weekend treat in our house when I was wee, with real unsalted butter that came in small round 1/4lb pack stamped with a thistle and wrapped in waxed paper, there is a small fruit and malt loaf sold here called Soreen it reminds me of the Youma loaf, nice and moist too.

Hi all! Jack here. I remember Youma with fondness, my mother used to buy it as a treat for us kids from the Dysart store bakery at the dunnikier road traffic lights (next to Visochis chip shop). That was 60 or more years ago. I can still taste it ,so moist and that crust!!!

Hi turraloon, guess what I received a reply from the Kirkcaldy Museum last night, the lady said she had passed the information about the donation of your book to one of the Curators, and that they would be in touch. I was uncertain if they would reply, but I am very happy that they did. As soon as I hear I will let you know.
