I'm not sure why it's not appearing, but when I click the link it doesn't appear to me either!

I just get this message:

Quote:

Webshots

An error has occurred.

You do not appear to be the owner of this album.
Make sure you are logged in.

Please push the Back button on your browser to correct this problem.
Thank you.

I don't use Webshots myself, but they obviously have both private and public areas. When I tested an upload, I just picked a random image from one of those on public display and managed to upload it after sussing out the correct URL. You must be using a private area to which you have to log on first. This forum is obviously not logged on and so cannot see it, and neither can I.

The URL that you quote also includes the section { . . . /scripts/editPhotos . . . } which suggests to me that you are in a personal area and have the ability to edit what is there. You need to give the URL for public access.

It would help if you could give me your username on webshots and the album title so that I can use Webshots own search engine to find your picture. Once I can find it, I can tell you what to put into the IMG tags to upload it here.

Incidentally, it has now passed midnight here in KDY so you won't hear anything more from me for at least 18hrs ( I only have off-peak internet access) and If I don't get to bed soon, I'll be getting an earfull from Marion (my wife).

See you then,

You just about had it there Betty

You just seem just to have missed off the http:// at the start and then you need to place it all between IMG tags.

You need to have "[IMG]" at the start (without the quotes)
Then you need your URL http://image16.webshots.com/17/8/9/17/222080917RTytXW_ph.jpg
and then you need to close the IMG tag with a "[/IMG]" (again without the quotes).

Then prepare to step back in amazement (mind the cat).

Now you try it Betty, and once you have got it up on your own post I'll edit it out of mine so it ends up where it belongs.
Good Luck

GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRR This is the message on Webshot Keith so I can't get the URL from there.

Can I use Webshots' images outside the Webshots software and website?

You can not extract or print the Webshots images.
They are all specially encoded to protect the copyright privileges of our professional photographers. Webshots images can only be used within the Webshots Desktop software and on our website.

Webshots has purchased the rights to use these images within the Webshots Desktop software and on the Webshots website. We are not authorized to allow them to be used elsewhere. If you would like to use any of the images you will need to contact the photographer or company. There is a link or name under most of the images on our website.

Hi Betty,

After reading your message, I went back to have a closer look at Webshots.

The message you quote above applies to the professionally taken photos in the GALLERY which are specially protected as they say.

The photographs in the COMMUNITY section are not protected at all, but are of course still copyright by their individual photographers. That is the section where your photo is and to which I have linked in my post above. Photos in this section may be saved to disk by right-clicking on a photo and choose save-as . . .
You can get the URL of photos in the community section by right-clicking on a photo and choosing Properties. The URL can then be copied and pasted into a post like I did above.

My post above has a direct link to your picture in Webshots - I haven't copied it, moved it, or saved it anywhere else.
