Good morning Betty (or afternoon, whatever
)What a wonderful looking caravan, heeeheee They don't make 'em like that any more (thank goodness )At least you got to lie around on a lilo. I notice your poor mum still has her pinny on, it was probably more work for here on holiday than at home. We didn't go on holiday much when we were young either, I remember we used to go to my uncle's farm for our annual holiday. We had to get a bus to Kennoway and then if we were lucky my uncle would come and pick us up, but if he was too busy we had to get another bus that dropped us off at the end of the farm road. They lived in a big old rambling stone farmhouse with lots of rooms. There was a separate scullery and kitchen and they made the pig swill in the scullery (can't remember it smelling much though, but it had to be boiled for hours). There was a small cool room, for keeping the milk and eggs and they even had separate living room and lounge (which I thought was very posh. It was a three storey house and the tiniest rooms were in the attic. I suppose they must have been the servant's quarters at one time. Anyway, I'm rambling again. Thanks for posting your pic Betty, and for reminding me of our holidays. |

Hi Betty, I have been in a caravan park in Crief. about the same age you were, we had a private toilet which was a wee bit better that the public one, it went with the caravan we hired. I love the country side so I was happy enough, there were other kids there and we did our own thing, it was not much fun at night as my little brother who was 2 years old then did not like to sleep and no one else got to.
I am just sneeking a few minutes while others are busy. Who is the good looking head sticking out of the sand, now we know where your grandkids get there good looks. I will have to go for now will catch up later. Hi to you to Maureen will talk later, Ann |
