Hello Maria, Welcome to the Kirkcaldy Book,it does not matter where you post Maria just as long as you post, I left Kirkcaldy in 1964 and I have not been home since, I am told things have changed a lot since I was home. It is so nice to hear all the nice things you said about Kirkcaldy. About 53 years ago I had a great Aunt and Uncle, my uncle had retired from the navy and wanted to have a job to keep him busy, he was offered the job of looking after Dunnikier School, which he took , but they had to live in the school house which was in the school grounds, they kept their own house but moved into the school house. I can still remember what it was like inside, my uncle only did the job for a short while. The fair you mention is the Links Market and last year it was 700 years old. If you look throught the site you will see photos of the market last year we have a member who took some spectacular photos. I have not seen snow for 41 years, it does snow in Australia but I have never gone to the mountains to see it. Is your Dad still a chef. Maybe you could give us a nice recipe from your country and we could give you one as well.I hope you will drop in and have a chat with us often. The weather hear has been warm for the time of year, but just a wee bit cooler the last 2 days.I love your photos they look lovely, hope you will post more. Have a great day and God Bless. Ann

Hello Annie

Thank you for your response .... it has been a long time you have left Kirkcaldy too ..but always the child memories stay for ever . I believe when we keep and want them alive we will always keep them and cherish em .I was there from 7 - 10 years old .
My sister inlow is from there too ...original born there ,she now lives in Cyprus ...we sometimes remember the time I was there .

Unfortunetly my father died 1982 , he was only 48 years old . I have recipies ... and they are in English too , I can post them ...where can I post them ? do you have a special thread with recipes ?

Thank you Annie

Cheerio for now

Hi Maria, the weather is warming up here, looks like we are in for a warm summer, and because of the drought animals that live in the bush are coming into built up areas looking for food. I do not mind the birds but I hope I do not get any snakes, some people have had them in their gardens and they have attacked their cats and dogs. What sorts of animals do you get in Cyprus?. I hope you will post more photos of Cyprus for everyone. hope to hear from you soon. Ann

Hi everyone just thought I would post this photo for you this fellow has been wandering around the walls of the house for a few days, he is bigger than the palm of my hand. He wanders mostly at night and just sits during the day. This is just a baby.

Well folks, guess who I found sitting on the curtain today, yes our friend in the picture, the one with eight legs. We tried to carch him in a jar, but he was to quick for us, so he is still wandering around the house somewhere, I guess I will not be putting my feet out of the covers tonight . Ann

Just to let you know we found our friend, and put him outside.
Here is a bit of information about the funnel web spider.

Just looking at the spider chart and noticed that the spider that we have a lot of in the garden is called the The Saint Andrews Cross, they just sit in the webs and very seldom move, unless they get sprayed with water when we water the garden.
